Attorney - retired Married 3 2012-08-06 16:13:54

Gail ( class of '61) and I have 3 children and 10 granchildren, 4 of which are in Chicago now having come from Israel, 4 in Florida, and 2 in California.  Our travel destinations
are self-evident.

I chose to retire in 1994 not wanting to spoil my perfect record before the Illinois
Supreme Court,  but I was forced to retire
from my baseball and basketball activity because of my imperfect performances.  Tennis is now the chosen successor, with mixed results,
but often played against several
former Von Steuben classmates which
adds to the enjoyment ( even tolerate those who are Cub fans.....yukkkkk!).

I note that Irky Shapiro, coming from AZ,
wants access to the Old School House.
I have recently skipped down its corridors,  reminisced in its gymnasium, and ran the
bases at River Park; I have also walked
the streets of our old neighborhood
and Bryn Mawr Ave.  Beware!!  Everything
seems "miniaturized" from how we  remember it.

Neverthless, I am looking forward to exchanging "exorbitant" memories of
our shared experiences with each of my
1960 classmates of "destined fame."

.

  1. Best accomplishments:  Wife Ady, 4 children, 4 grandchildren
  2. Working:  Insurance agent--CFP
  3. Professional accomplishments:  Numerous awards from many insurance companies.  Highest honor was being chosen "Agent of the Year" by a major insurance company.
  4. Non-business accomplishments and experiences:
  • military:  army, artive and reserve.  squad leader, sergeant, 5 years artillery, head quarters battery communications chief, platoon sergeant, reconnaissance, riot training sergeant.  Prepared for one full year as part of the strategic reserve force, expecting to be sent to Viet Nam after completion of 12 months of training.  Luckily after all the accelerated training was completed, President Johnson decided not to send us.
  • Classifed by the U.S. army as a TRAINED KILLER.
  • On a Saturday in June, 1965, a friend and I explored a cave in the Missouri Ozarks.  We went 2 1/2 miles in and couldn't find our way out.  At 5 a.m. Sunday morning, 21 MPs, including a major, came to our rescue.  We had great publicity in Missouri, Oklahoma and the Ft. Leonard Wood news.  It only made the radio in Chicago.
  • Summer of 1970--stole an MP jeep.
  • I volunteer with the Highland Park COMMUNITY EMERGENCY RESPONSE TEAM:  search and rescue, direct traffic on extra high volume days (Taste of Highland Park, art fairs, 4th of July crowd control) and security for these events and others.
  • Trained with the Evanston Police Dept. Citizens Police Academy and was an Evanston CERT member.
  • Vice-commander of both North Shore American Legion and Jewish War Veterans.
  • Ran the 2007 and 2008 North Shore half marathon and am preparing for the 2011 half marathon in June.
TRAVEL-- I have traveled to the usual places, missing a few states in the
     United States.
European  travel--Have not been in Asia, except for Turkey.
We missed Israel three years ago when two weeks before our trip my lovely
wife fell and broke her shoulder---NO TRIP INSURANCE.  Who has ever
cancelled a trip due to health issues?
